For hardened television junkies, summer is a season of withdrawal: beloved shows go on hiatus for three or four agonizing months, and all the sunshine pouring in through open windows can create a distracting glare on the screen. Obviously, it's time to unclench those fingers from the remote, slap on some sunscreen and creep outside. But for those who just can't give up their small-screen habit, no matter how lovely the weather or how scrumptious the barbecue, we've put together a list of ten must-see T.V. destinations you can work into your summer vacation.

"Beverly Hills, 90210" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" -- Torrance, Calif.
If you're a sucker for high school dramas, Torrance High School is a can't-miss stop. This still-functioning school, which was built in 1917, is the quintessential California high school, at least as imagined by location scouts: open courtyards, red Spanish tile, a gorgeous arched entryway and steps primed for pre-homeroom gossip sessions.

It served as the exterior of West Beverly High in the original "Beverly Hills, 90210" (and as the façade for the current version, "90210") and was transformed into Sunnydale High School, home of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." It's currently a location for CBS's "Medium," and has also played host to a slew of films ("She's All That," "Bring it On," "Not Another Teen Movie" and more).

"Twin Peaks" -- Snoqualmie and North Bend, Wash.
Fans of this deliriously creepy series, co-created by David Lynch, will get a genuine shiver when they first catch a glimpse of the exterior of the Great Northern Lodge overlooking Washington's stunning Snoqualmie Falls (or, as it's known off-screen, the luxurious Salish Lodge and Spa). In nearby North Bend, Twede's Café -- or the Double-R Diner -- is also worth exploring, although the dining room has since been renovated (the original interior was mostly destroyed by an arson fire). Don't fret: you can still sit down, order a slice of "Twin Peaks Cherry Pie," speak a few notes into your mini-cassette recorder, and, of course, enjoy a damn fine cup of coffee.
